[DULUTH, MN] The Duluth Drag Races and Car Show will be held Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th, on Garfield Avenue. 

Garfield Avenue will close to through-traffic between Superior Street and Nelson Street from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Railroad Street at Garfield Ave. will also close to traffic during these same times. There will be no access to the event or Garfield Avenue from Railroad Street.  

The only access to the event for all drivers, car show participants, and spectators will be from West Superior Street to Garfield Avenue. Vehicles coming off the I-535 off-ramp to Garfield Avenue or approaching from Railroad Street will not be able to get in to the event. The event opens to the public at 9:00 a.m. each day.      

Goodwill Industries, Charter Communications, Rice’s Point, and the Port Terminal will remain accessible from the I-535 Off-Ramp (at the Blatnik High Bridge) to Garfield Avenue and the Port Terminal throughout the event. Motorists should follow the Port Terminal detour from I-35 North or South to access the area.

Railroad Street businesses will only be accessible from Lake Avenue or 5th Avenue West to Railroad Street during the event.
