Monday, October 7 at Mt. Royal Branch Library – 105 Mt. Royal Shopping Circle
Teen Pizza Party - 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm: Come for the pizza; stay for the party! Pizza, games, crafts, and prizes for teens in grades 6-12.

Mt. Royal Readers’ Guild – 3:30 – 4:30 pm: Want to join a “secret” readers’ guild? We’ll read various short juvenile fiction each session and explore them with activities and discussion.

Wednesday, October 9 at Main Library – 520 West Superior Street
Storytime with Chione - 10:15 am: Hear the story and learn the culture of Paka’a, a little boy living in Hawaii. Chione will engage children by intertwining musical learning, storytelling, and American Sign Language. This 45-minute program can be enjoyed by all ages, from babies to children at heart. Hosted by Chione Woodwind Quintet.
Squad Car Storytime – 3:45 – 4:15 pm: Join us for stories read by one of Duluth's police officers. Preschool age children. Meet in Youth Services.

Mental Health Awareness West Duluth Storytime - 10:30 am: Mental Illness Awareness Week is October 6-12 and Northland Healthy Minds is helping with a special storytime that helps young learners explore emotions and mental health. This storytime is designed to educate and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness.
Movie for Seniors: Dumbo – 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm: Rated PG; Fantasy/Adventure; 1h 52m. A light snack may be provided. Register online at www.duluthlibrary.org.

Goodnight, Garden! – 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Now that fall is here, the garden needs a little special attention before it rests. Garden beds need to be cleaned and trees, bulbs, and perennial plants need protection from winter’s cold and garden pests. This session provides tips for putting your garden to bed. Presented by St. Louis County Master Gardeners.

Oliver Traphagen: Duluth’s Quintessential Architect - 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm: Author and local historian, Tony Dierckins, will talk about architect Oliver Traphagen, who designed over thirty of Duluth’s most ornate and beautiful brick-and-brownstone buildings, as well as homes for many wealthy Duluthians. .
