Local Rotary Clubs Donate 40 ARM-LOC Devices to Local Rescue Organizations

Duluth Skyline Rotary, Duluth Rotary Club 25, Harbortown Rotary, and Superior Rotary Club 40 are pleased to donate 40 ARM-LOC rescue devices to the City of Duluth Fire Department, the City of Duluth Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, and the City of Superior Police Department.

The innovative ARM-LOC devices are designed to assist in water and ice emergencies. These life-saving devices slip onto a victim’s forearm and the rescue responder or the victim can pull a cord to lock the device in place. The responder can then pull the victim to safety.

The ARM-LOC was invented in Duluth by Water Rescue Innovations which also provides free annual training and supplies to everyone that receives an ARM-LOC.

Through this donation, several area rescue teams will have another tool available to save lives in emergency situations.

Duluth Skyline Rotary, Duluth Rotary Club 25, Harbortown Rotary, and Superior Rotary Club 40 are all area clubs of Rotary International. Rotarians work to strengthen and build community through acts which demonstrate service above self.

A press event will be held on October 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Duluth Fire Department Headquarters in downtown Duluth to recognize the organizations selected, and the Rotary Clubs that participated in this fundraiser.
