City of Duluth Prepares for Today’s Storm
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth is watching the storm headed towards the Twin Ports. Heavy rains and high winds are predicted by the National Weather Service to continue into the evening. Wind gusts are expected to be between 20 – 30 miles per hour, with the potential to reach as high as 50 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory until 10:00 p.m. tonight. City staff would like to remind the public not to drive through standing water, and keep a safe distance from the shoreline.
Should this storm materialize, as with any storm, the City advises the use of caution when traveling. For those that are interested, there are live cams available that provide an interesting perspective, from a safe distance, of the weather in the harbor and the lakeshore area at: http://www.visitduluth.com/livecam/
The City of Duluth will provide updates as necessary.
