City to hold Open House for Upcoming Sanitary Sewer Improvements on Park Point
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department will hold an open house to discuss upcoming sanitary sewer improvements on Park Point on November 7th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Lafayette Community Center. The City will be improving a sanitary sewer line on South Lake Avenue between 7th Street South to 12th Street South in addition to another line on South Minnesota Avenue between 12th Street South to 29th Street South.
The work involves the installation of a cured in-place pipe (CIPP) liner to restore the performance of the pipe. Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) pipe lining is a process where a flexible, epoxy-saturated, felt tube is inserted in the existing sewer pipe, then steam or hot water is used to inflate the tube and harden the epoxy to form a solid pipe. The CIPP liner installed by “trenchless” methods in a manner that generally does not require excavation and access to the work will be at existing manholes. The work will occur during the period of November 12, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
