East Sidewalk of Aerial Lift Bridge Temporarily Closed

[Duluth, MN] The east (lakeside) sidewalk of the Aerial Lift Bridge has been temporarily closed due to a small leak from a pipe that crosses over the bridge. The cold weather is causing the water to freeze, and for safety reasons, the sidewalk on the lakeside of the bridge has been temporarily closed to pedestrian traffic. The west (bayside) sidewalk remains open. City staff is also asking that people stay away from the south pier near the east side of the bridge due to the forming ice.

Crews will evaluate the leak to identify a remedy as quickly as possible.
