UPDATE: A Portion of Harbor Drive and Other Areas Closed due to Flooding
[Duluth, MN] A portion of Harbor Drive behind Amsoil Arena was closed due to flooding, in the afternoon of November 30. The City has also closed the Lighthouse Parking Lot located at the end of Canal Park Drive by Grandma’s Saloon & Grill Canal Park. This area is also closed to foot traffic as waves continue to increase in size and is unsafe for pedestrians. City officials continue to monitor other areas for flooding, of which none have flooded at this time.
The predicted snowstorm remains on track to drop 12 or more inches of snow in Duluth, and create blizzard conditions because of high winds and blowing snow.
The City and National Weather Service continue to advise no unnecessary travel due to dangerous conditions that are expected to worsen throughout the afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service continues to predict the potential for a top-10 highest two-day snowfall total in recorded history for Duluth. Please stay safe shelter in place if you can.
CHUM’s drop-in center is open all night tonight for those that need a place to go to get out of the storm.
The City of Duluth will continue to provide updates as needed throughout the storm.
