[DULUTH, MN] The Wild Santa Run 5K will start on Saturday, December 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the 2500 block of West Superior Street. Runners will run west on Superior St. to a turnaround near 27th Ave. W., then proceed east on the Cross-City Trail to the M&H Gas Station parking lot, where they will turn around and return to the start/finish area using the same route.  

To accommodate the event, Superior Street between 24th Ave. W. and 27th Ave. W., and 22nd, 23rd, and 24th Aves. W. between Superior Street and Michigan Street, will close to traffic from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m.  

Drivers in the area should use First Street as a detour around the closures.  To avoid congestion and delays, do not use Michigan St. between 21st Ave. W. and 27th Ave. W., except to access businesses along Michigan St. Michigan Street will remain open to local traffic only, but will encounter traffic delays at 22nd Ave. W. while runners cross the street.   

Parking is prohibited on Superior Street between 24th Ave. W. and 27th Ave. W. starting at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, and will be posted with no parking signs.  Vehicles parked in violation are subject to ticketing and towing.

Drivers should remain alert to unusual traffic and pedestrian congestion in the area and are asked to use extra caution while driving.
