Final LED Lights to be Installed This Week on the Aerial Lift Bridge


[Duluth, MN] Work crews will finish installing LED lights on the Aerial Lift Bridge this week. Work will begin tomorrow, March 23, and is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, March 27. Work began removing high-pressure sodium lights earlier this month on the lifting span of the bridge. Traffic will not be affected.


“The goal is to have the lights appear exactly as they look today,” said City of Duluth Energy Coordinator Alex Jackson. “The contractor and City staff will be adjusting the lights once all of the LED’s have been installed to ensure the historical look is maintained.”


The change in lights is estimated to save the City $5,000 annually.
