Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower to be Lit Blue to Recognize Healthcare Providers & Essential Workers
[Duluth, MN} The Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower will be lit in light blue tonight, April 9, to recognize healthcare providers and essential workers. Other buildings and landmarks throughout Minnesota, and in states across the country will also be lit in blue to thank workers for all that they are doing during the COVID-19 pandemic. This effort is a part of a worldwide campaign using #LightItBlue.
The campaign first started in the United Kingdom two weeks ago when more than 130 bridges, buildings, and landmarks were lit up in blue. Tonight’s event is the first to take place in the United States.
The Aerial Lift Bridge will be turned back to purple at a request of Mayor Larson. The Aerial Lift Bridge will be turned back to purple on April 10 as a way to spread joy throughout the Duluth community.
