610 people participate in the City’s First Virtual Clean-up

[Duluth, MN] Results are in from Saturday’s Virtual Clean-up! The City of Duluth is excited to report that 247 litter reports were submitted as a part of the public’s efforts to collect trash and debris that accumulated over the winter. The collected reports conveyed that 610 people helped with the clean-up for a total of 902 hours of assistance.

The City is still tabulating the amount of trash that was collected.

“I participated with my family, and it felt good to safely get outside and pitch in for the greater good,” Mayor Emily Larson said. “Thank you to staff for their flexibility to go virtual, and our business sponsors for giving more at a time when it’s easy to give less. Finally, thank you to our residents who participated in the drive. The turnout was amazing. It was great to see, so many come together to take care of the place that we all love.”

The City would like to thank Loll Designs, Duluth Whole Foods Co-Op, and Twin Ports Trailer Trash for their sponsorship and partnership to this project.
