Temporary Water Shutdown Tomorrow, May 7 in the Hillside Neighborhood

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth will conduct a temporary water shutdown on Thursday, May 7, in the following locations: E. 2nd St between 7th Avenue East to 10th Avenue East, 8th Avenue East between East 1st Street and East 2nd Street, and 9th Avenue East between East 2nd Street and East 3rd Street. Water will be out between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The shutdown affects 35 homes, who were all notified before work is done.

The water shutoff is taking place due to a contractor installing new valves on the water pipes. This work will allow the contractor to stage their work, minimizing outages during later planned construction. St. Luke’s Hospital will not be affected by the shutdown. Traffic in the areas affected will be reduced to one lane while the contractor works.
