Work on East Superior Street to begin on Monday, June 1

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth Street Maintenance division will begin road work on Monday, June 1, on portions of East Superior Street. Crews will be excavating, pinning, pouring concrete and finish coating with bituminous as a part of Phase 1. This section stretches from Congdon Park Drive to 40th Avenue East. This phase is expected to take three weeks to complete.

Phase 2 is estimated to start on June 22nd and will work on the section of East Superior Street from 40th Avenue East to 44th Avenue East. This work is also expected to last for three weeks.

There are approximately 80 dig sites within the two phases of the project. The digs are performed to install an anti-corrosion system on the 42-inch water main to extend its lifetime and reduce the number of breaks and leaks experienced on the pipe.
