Mandatory citywide curfew to continue at 9:00 p.m. tonight, May 31

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth is instituting a curfew beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight, May 31, until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1. Exemptions of the curfew include all law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel, members of the media, individuals traveling directly to and from work, seeking emergency care, fleeing danger, or experiencing homelessness.

Mayor Larson signed an Emergency Curfew Declaration on May 30th, implementing a curfew from May 30 through the morning of June 1st. Violation of this curfew as an emergency regulation under Minnesota State Statute 12.29  and is a misdemeanor under Minnesota State Statute 12.44. Obstructing a public official enforcing this emergency curfew regulation violates Duluth City Code 34-14 (obstructing public officer), which is a petty misdemeanor.

The City asks for residents to stay home and stay safe during tonight’s curfew hours. The City would like to thank residents for their understanding.
