Phase II of Construction on East Superior Street to begin on June 30

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth will begin phase two of a permanent anode dig on East Superior Street starting tomorrow, June 30. Crews will be repairing the road surface where anodes were installed three years ago. Anodes wrapped around a pipe is a process that protects pipes from external corrosion. External coating and cathodic protection are used to protect the surface of pipes from its external environment. Phase two will take place on East Superior Street between 40th Avenue East and 44th Avenue East. Traffic will still be allowed during construction. However, parking will not be allowed on East Superior Street during this time. Construction is expected to be complete by August 3.
