NATURE OF INCIDENT: Structure fire
CASE NO.: 20-00006905
INCIDENT DATE: 7/6/2020
INCIDENT TIME: 00:21
INCIDENT LOCATION: 814 N 3rd Ave E

At 00:21, the Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of a house on fire. Initial units reported a large fire in an abandoned house. The house was found to be boarded up and not occupied. Objectives were then to account for persons in the area and to ensure that no other buildings would become involved with fire.

The fire was under control at roughly 2:00 AM. Limitations were due to the building being too hazardous to enter. All fire suppression efforts were from the exterior.

There were no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Any inquiries for this incident should be directed to the Duluth Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office.

Damages to the building are estimated at $50,000 for total loss of the building.

Fire companies from Headquarters, UMD, Woodland and Lincoln Park responded to this incident. Minnesota Power and Duluth Police also responded to render assistance.
