Final Phase of Construction on East Superior Street to begin on July 23

[Duluth, MN] The final phase of a permanent repair of anode dig on East Superior Street will begin on July 23. Crews will continue to repair the road surface where anodes were installed three years ago. Anodes wrapped around a pipe is a process that protects pipes from external corrosion. External coating and cathodic protection are used to protect the surface of pipes from its external environment.

The final phase will take place on East Superior Street between 44th Avenue East and 45th Avenue East. Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This final phase is expected to be completed by August 6.

There will be no parking allowed on either side of East Superior Street within the construction zone. Off-street parking will continue to be available. Access to the parking lot between Marshall Hardware and Snap Fitness will remain open. All businesses between 44th and 45th Avenue East have access from the sidewalk and the alley.
