INCIDENT LOCATION: 437 W Wabasha St

At 6:32 this evening, the Duluth Fire Department responded for the report of an alarm sounding and smoke showing. A second caller confirmed that there was a fire at the address.

Crews quickly arrived on scene and reported fire in the kitchen. The arriving crew extinguished the fire and searched the first floor. Second arriving units searched the rest of the home and confirmed that there was no one inside. 

Damage to the home was limited to the first floor kitchen area. The extent of the damage to the home and contents are estimated at $15,000. There were no injuries to report.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an unattended range stove, and was ruled accidental.

Fire companies from Woodland, UMD, Lakeside and Downtown assisted in fire extinguishment and salvage.
