Early Voting Opens Friday, September 18

[Duluth, MN] – The General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Early Voting opens on Friday, September 18, 2020.  

Vote from Home

Due to COVID-19, the public is encouraged to vote by mail.  Visit www.mnvotes.org to submit an absentee ballot request or visit duluthmn.gov/city-clerk.  Voters are encouraged to request an absentee ballot as soon as possible to ensure timely delivery.  A witness is NOT required for 2020 general election ballots of registered voters.   Non-registered voters do require a witness for their 2020 general election ballot.

Return your Ballot 

Voters are encouraged to mail return ballots by October 26, 2020 to ensure return delivery.  Ballots postmarked on or before November 3, 2020 will be accepted until the close of business on November 10, 2020.  

Voters can also deliver their ballot to Duluth City Hall.  A secure drive-up ballot drop box is available for City of Duluth voters only at the 2nd Street Parking lot adjacent to City Hall.   The drop box can be accessed by entering the parking lot one-way from 2nd Street.   The drop box is monitored 24/7 by security camera. 

Voters can hand deliver their ballot to a ballot box located within Duluth City Hall during in-person early voting hours, enter from Priley Circle.

Residents can check their ballot status at any time by visiting https://mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/AbsenteeBallotStatus.aspx 

 

Early Voting In Person 

Beginning September 18, 2020, Duluth voters can vote early in person at Duluth City Hall, 411 W. 1st St.  Duluth, MN 55802, enter from Priley Circle.   You do not need an appointment to vote.   Stay safe protocols are in place at City Hall and masks are available for voters. Hours for early voting are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Mon - Fri) 

Extended hours for early voting begin October 27, 2020:

Tuesday, October 27, 2020 - Saturday, October 31, 2020 (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) 

Monday, November 2, 2020 (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

Monday, November 2, 2020 is the last day (by 5:00 p.m.) to vote early in person.

 

Serve as an Election Judge 

The City continues to seek persons interested in serving as election judges.  The City is seeking persons affiliated with all parties but, in order to maintain party balance within precincts, the City is particularly seeking additional voters who are affiliated with either the Republican Party, Grassroots-Legalize Cannabis Party, or Legal Marijuana Now Party.   Those who are interested in serving as an election judge can apply here: https://duluthmn.gov/media/9969/2020-election-judge-application-fillable.pdf
