The City Announces Enger Redevelopment Project Public Meetings
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth is pleased to announce that it has selected Consortium MN, based in St. Paul, as its concept design development team for the Enger Redevelopment Project. In 2020, the City issued a request for proposal seeking a qualified development partner for the 10-acre site, located across Skyline Parkway from Enger Golf Course. The intent of the process with Consortium MN is to move toward the redevelopment of the site.
Keith Baker, CEO of Consortium MN, states, “Our focus for this development project opportunity is one used for community development – with a view toward Equity – A Livability Framework. We believe that this framework should encompass a sense of place, health and wellness, economic opportunity, diversity of housing types and affordability, recreation, mobility, and sustainability.” Consortium MN has strong ties to the Duluth area, and extensive experience in producing high quality developments rooted in priorities set by the communities where they are located.
Consortium MN, along with staff from the City of Duluth, will host three listening sessions/workshops in the coming weeks. These online workshops are open to the public and will be focused to obtain community perspective in three key areas: Housing, Youth and Community Amenities, and Commercial Uses.
- Youth and Community Amenities: January 21 at 10:00 am or 5:45 pm
- Housing: January 28 at 10:00 am or 5:45 pm
- Commercial: February 4 at 10:00 am or 5:45 pm
Chris Fleege, Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City, said, “Community input can elevate the potential of this development. We are excited to work with Consortium and community members on housing for this site, which has spectacular views, natural resources, and access to recreation, while also being located in the heart of our city.”
