Duluth Warming Center to extend hours due to extreme cold

[Duluth, MN] The Duluth Warming Center will be extending its hours due to extreme cold and be open through the weekend of February 7. The Center will open today, February 4 – Saturday, February 6, at 6:00 p.m. and close at 8:00 a.m. The Center will be open for 24 hours on Sundays. The Warming Center is located in the Rainbow Center at 211 North 3rd Avenue East. Thanks to a partnership with the DTA, those needing to get to and from the Warming Center can ride a bus for free.

The CHUM Drop-In is also open 24 hours as a Warming Center. The Warming Center is a safe and welcoming nighttime space where people experiencing homelessness and other people in need can stay warm.

The Center, on average in January, saw 34 guests per night. The highest number of guests at one time was 55 people.

The Warming Center continues to work with community partners to provide medical and social services for those who utilize the space. St. Louis County announced this week that their Public Health department would be offering COVID-19 vaccinations at the Warming Center, in addition to COVID-19 tests.
