Applications now open for NQT2SLGBIA Commission
[Duluth, MN] Applications are now open for the City’s newest commission, the Nonbinary, Queer, Trans, Two-spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Intersex and Asexual (NQT2SLGBIA) Commission. Anyone looking to apply can do so by visiting https://duluth-mn.granicus.com/boards/forms/138/apply/2212118?code=595f9c46-98ad-48ce-a702-7f21c260385c.
The Commission was co-sponsored by Councilor’s Anderson, Van Nett, and Forsman. The City Council voted unanimously to approve it in December of 2020.
“This Commission was created so members of our LGBTQ+ community can have direct impact on City policy,” Councilor Anderson said. “Commission members will have access to administration, staff and elected officials. This is a good step toward creating a safer and more welcoming community. I am truly looking forward to the good work that will be done by this new commission.”
No previous board experience is needed to apply. The application deadline is February 19.
