INCIDENT LOCATION: 2300 Blk W 4th St
[DULUTH, MN] On 2/25/2021 at approximately 8:30 PM, Duluth police officers responded to a residence in the area of the 2300 Block of W 4th Street on the report of a physical domestic. Upon arrival, officers learned the male suspect had felony warrants and refused to surrender. K9 Luna was sent in to apprehend the suspect, at which point the suspect fired shots and hit K9 Luna. Officers returned fire, retreated from the residence, and set up a perimeter to contain the scene. We have no evidence the suspect is injured. K9 Luna later died at the emergency veterinary clinic. No officers were injured. The suspect continues to be dangerous, armed, and uncooperative. This incident is an active, ongoing, and dangerous situation, and the public is asked to stay away from the area.
