Duluth Public Library Branches Launch ‘Library Express’
[DULUTH, MN] –Book lovers rejoice! The Duluth Public Library is ready to welcome back the community to its branches to use Library Express, a new service allowing for brief visits. Branches will have limited capacity to maintain social distancing and COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Starting Monday, April 12 Mt. Royal and West Duluth branch libraries will open their doors for people to select and check out items, pick up holds inside the branches, get library cards, and return items.
The Duluth Public Library will host a press conference Thursday, April, 8th 2021, at 10 a.m. at the West Duluth branch, 5830 Grand Avenue, to recognize the hard work DPL library staff have done and explain how Library Express will work.
In light of current restrictions, the press conference will not be open to the public just media outlets.
“We are so happy and excited to begin welcoming the community back into the branch libraries again. The service and the spaces will look different than they did a year ago, but this is an important first step toward getting back to normal in a gradual and safe way,” said Carla Powers, the Duluth Public Library Manager.
The hours for Library Express are as follows:
Mount Royal:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
West Duluth:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
