City Councilor, School Board filings begin June 1

[Duluth MN] Candidates for the upcoming City of Duluth Municipal and Independent School District #709 School Board elections must file affidavits of candidacy during the period from June 1 through June 15, 2021:

CITY                            

            Terms expiring are for:

            Two Councilors At-Large (Precincts 1-34)

            Councilor-Second District (Precincts 8-13)

            Councilor-Fourth District (Precincts 21-27)

Candidates for City offices must file with the City Clerk, 318 City Hall, 411 West 1st Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The filing fee of $20.00 or a petition in lieu of the filing fee must be furnished at the time of filing.

SCHOOL BOARD

            Terms expiring are for:

            Two Members of the School Board: At-Large

(Precincts 1-30, 32-34, and Townships of Gnesen, Lakewood, Normanna, North Star, City of Rice Lake, and unorganized precincts 2 & 23)

            One Member of the School Board: 1st District 

(Precincts 1-2, 4-7, City of Rice Lake and 4 townships, including unorganized precincts 2 & 23)

            One Member of the School Board: 4th District 

            (Precincts 21, 26-30, 32-34)

Candidates for the School Board must file with the Clerk of the School Board, Room 215, Central Administration Building, 215 North 1st Avenue East, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The filing fee is $2.00 or a petition in lieu of the filing fee must be furnished at the time of filing.

The date for the Primary Election is August 10, 2021 and the date for the General Election is November 2, 2021.
