Duluth Police arrest 2nd suspect in May 22 homicide

On 05/25/2021 Duluth Police Investigators developed information as to the whereabouts of a second suspect named in the investigation into a May 22 shooting that led to the death of a 22-year-old Duluth man.  On May 25, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Laurel Larice Ladd in relation to his alleged involvement in the incident.

Early this morning, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Duluth Police Investigators had identified an address on East Village View Drive as a likely location for Ladd.  With the assistance of the Duluth Police Department Tactical Response Team as well as assistance and deployment of an armored “Bearcat” from the Superior Police Department, Ladd was located there and taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search warrant at the address where Ladd was arrested led to the recovery of a handgun. Ladd was lodged at the Saint Louis County Jail pursuant to the arrest warrant.

This incident remains an open and active investigation.  The Department is asking the community for help in locating a third suspect in the incident identified as Marcus Seville Morris.  Persons with information about the incident or the whereabouts of Morris are asked to contact the Duluth Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force at 218-730-5050 or by calling 911.
