NATURE OF INCIDENT: Garage Fire @ 313-19 Kelly Circle

INCIDENT TIME: 1352
INCIDENT LOCATION: 13-19 Kelly Circle

At 1352 hours this afternoon, the Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a garage on fire at 313-19 Kelly Circle. Initial arriving engine company reported heavy smoke coming from the eaves of a four stall garage. The building was secured, and there were no windows.

Firefighters had to forcibly remove two overhead doors to gain access, but were still able to knock the fire down before it could consume the building.

Fire damage was limited to a small area in an exterior wall, with some extension to the roof supports. Smoke damage throughout the building. Initial damage estimates are set at $15,000. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal's Office.

Fire companies responded from UMD, Miller Mall and Downtown.
