Duluth Fire & Police Departments to share firework enforcement and safety measures

June 24 | 11:00 a.m. | Bayfront Park

[Duluth MN] The Duluth Police and Fire Departments will hold a press conference today, June 24, at 11:00 a.m. to share firework enforcement and safety measures being taken by the Departments. In 2020, Duluth Police received over 600 firework complaints which was double the amount from 2019. In response to neighborhood and citizen complaints, the Duluth Police Department will share enforcement measures being taken ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The Duluth Fire Department will share safety tips for when using fireworks. Representatives will also share what populations are vulnerable to the loud noises that come from some fireworks and how to be courteous not only to neighbors but also to those within your neighborhood.

The press conference is open to the public. The press conference will be held at the overlook of the Bayfront Park stage, behind the Bayfront Community Center.
