Duluth Public Library Partners with RentHelpMN
The Duluth Public Library, with the help of the American Indian Housing Organization, is partnering with RentHelpMN, also known as the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance program, to help those who have fallen behind on their payments and answer any questions renters or landlords may have.
RentHelpMN navigators will be on-site at the Main Duluth Public Library downtown Friday, July 16th, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, July 30th, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the third floor of the library in the Partnership Center.
“We are happy to be partnering with MN Rent Assist on this important program. We hope that by offering the main library as a convenient and accessible location, it will help people learn more about this resource and get the help they need,” said Duluth Public Library Manager, Carla Powers.
Gather these documents ahead of time to make it easier to complete your application:
Your landlord’s contact info: name, address, email, phone
- Copy of your lease
- Past-due rent statement
- Income Documentation
- A form of ID
- Utility bills
Eligible Minnesota renters can receive help with past due rent back to March 13, 2020. Qualifying Minnesotans could receive up to 15 months of total assistance.
This program is on a first-come-first-serve basis and free.
