October 8, 2021 UPDATE:
 
36-year-old Duluth resident Anthony Weems has been arrested on September 25, 2021 in Douglas County on multiple warrants. One for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and another for a 5th Degree Assault. 
 
10:50 p.m. UPDATE:
 
After further investigation, Duluth Police Officers have determined that the 35-year-old male victim was traveling in a vehicle when the discharge of the firearm occurred and that the gunshot wound was accidentally self-inflicted. The victim was struck in the leg and the injury is non-life-threatening. Efforts are underway to recover the firearm. There is no danger to the public.

At 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021, Duluth Police Officers responded to a call of a 35-year-old male victim that was being treated at a local emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Officers are currently conducting interviews. The location of the incident has not yet been determined and the status of the victim’s injuries are currently unknown.
