INCIDENT TIME: 2:30 a.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 4700 blk of Grand Ave
At approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021, Duluth Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting that happened in the 4700 block of Grand Ave. Upon arrival, shell casings were located along with witnesses of the incident. Officers spoke with witnesses and were able to determine that the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Eugene Davis, shot at a victim after a dispute occurred.
Davis left the scene and walked to his home in Morgan Park where a short standoff ensued. Davis surrendered and was arrested without incident on pending charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Discharge, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
No injuries were reported and no further information will be provided as the incident is under investigation by the Duluth Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
