Mayor Larson and partners to host City Hall in the City- Back to School event today, August 24

[Duluth, MN] Today, Mayor Emily Larson will host the City Hall in the City- Back to School edition at the Duluth Entertainment Center from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. City Hall in the City is a listening series that Mayor Larson launched during her first term, and has continued hosting the events throughout the pandemic.

Mayor Larson announced last month that an in-person City Hall in the City event would take place before the start of the school year that would provide resources for students, and parents a like to feel confident, and prepared to start the new year ahead. This City Hall in the City: Back to School Edition is jam packed with backpack and food giveaways, vaccine clinic and well-child checks resources, mini job fair, bike safety supplies, COVID-19 Resource Kit, free hygiene items, Rent Help MN Navigators (AICHO & One Roof), insurance coverage resources, free activities and outdoor games, and more.

Thanks to the DECC, parking for those attending the event is free.

For those needing a ride to get a vaccine, or to learn more about getting vaccinated free rides are being provided. Thanks to Ecolibrium3, LISC, and UberHealth, the COVID-19 Vaccine Access Program is offering free rides to locations and events where information about the COVID-19 vaccine is offered is available to persons throughout the Twin Ports. Over twenty different organizations and service providers will be onsite services for the whole family. Community partners attending include: CHUM, American Indian Community Housing Organization (AICHO), Essentia Health, Family Freedom Center, Health Equity Northland, ISD 709, Insure Duluth, Life House, Lighthouse Center for Vital Living, One Roof Community Housing, Salvation Army, Lake Superior Community Health Center, Comfort Systems, Recovery Alliance Duluth, Harm Reduction Sisters, St. Louis County, Youth in Action, YMCA of Duluth, Zeitgeist, and more community partners will be in attendance!
