SUBJECT: Duluth Police Officers Respond to Motorcycle vs. Motor Vehicle Accident

UPDATE:

66-year-old Duluth resident, James William Chinn, passed away from injuries sustained from crashing into the back of another vehicle that was stopped for a school bus. The accident happened at around 3:35 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 on Highway 23 and 121st Ave W. Chinn wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The Duluth Police Department wants to send our condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Chinn. We also want to remind the community to be aware of motorists while traveling.

 

ORIGINAL:

At around 3:35 p.m., Duluth Police Officers were dispatched to Hwy 23 and 121st Ave W on a report of a crash between a motorcycle and a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who said they saw a motorcycle crash into the back of another vehicle that was stopped for a school bus. The individual on the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and died from injuries sustained from the crash. The name of the individual will not be released until next of kin is notified.
