Monday, Sept. 27 Update:
53-year-old Brian Keith Jackson is identified as the individual who died from injuries related to a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in the area of S 1st Ave E at E Michigan Street. Initial reports stated Jackson was ejected from the vehicle, but after a thorough investigation, that was untrue. Jackson was not ejected from his vehicle.
Duluth Police Investigators believe there was a mechanical failure to Jackson’s vehicle, causing the crash to occur.
The Duluth Police Department wants to send our condolences to Brian Jackson’s family, friends, and loved ones.

At around 7:08 p.m. Duluth Police Officers were dispatched to the area of S 1st Ave E at E Michigan Street on a report of a single-vehicle crash. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 52-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle and died from injuries related to the crash. The name of the individual will be released as soon as next of kin is notified. No further information will be released at this time as it’s an active investigation.
