NATURE OF INCIDENT: Arrest
CASE NO.: 2020-20057945
INCIDENT DATE: 10/8/2021
INCIDENT TIME: 2:45 p.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: 3300 block of Kolstad Ave
At approximately 2:45 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, Investigators from the Lake Superior Forensic Technology and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (LSFT & ICAC), along with the Duluth Police Department arrested 43-year-old Damian Lee Cole in the 3300 block of Kolstad Avenue. The arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation from April 2020 after the LSFT & ICAC Task Force and the Duluth Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip from the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that Cole was in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
Cole was arrested without incident and was transported to the St. Louis County Jail on five pending felony counts of Possession of Pornographic Work Involving Minors.
The Duluth Police Department wants to thank the LSFT & ICAC Task Force, the Superior Police Department, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for their assistance in apprehending Cole and bringing him to justice. We want to remind parents to monitor children and young adults’ activity on the internet and social media to keep them safe from predators.
