SUBJECT: Duluth Police Officers Arrest Individual on Pending DWI Charges

INCIDENT TIME: 9:45 p.m.
INCIDENT LOCATION: N Blackman Ave and We Arrowhead Rd

At approximately 9:45 p.m., Friday, October 8, Duluth Police Officers responded to a single-vehicle in the ditch in the area of N Blackman Ave and W Arrowhead Rd. Upon arrival, it was noted that the driver of the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. DWI Investigator Todd Simmons responded to the scene and did alcohol compliance checks on the individual, who blew a breath alcohol concentration of .25. The legal limit in Minnesota is .08.
 
59-year-old Kristy Hren from Hermantown was arrested on pending charges of 1st Degree Driving While Impaired, Ignition Interlock, and Alcohol Restriction. She also has nine prior DWI’s on her record.
 
The Duluth Police Department wants to remind everyone to drive sober or get pulled over.
