Applicants encouraged to apply for Parks and Recreation Commission vacant seat

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth encourages residents to apply for the Community Education seat of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Applicants must be a resident of Duluth to be eligible to serve. Working knowledge or experience in local youth programming or education is preferred. Applications can be accessed by visiting: https://duluthmn.gov/boards-commissions/parks-recreation-commission/.

The Parks and Recreation Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, City Council, Parks, and Recreation Division, and other agencies and organizations related to Duluth City Park and Recreation programs and facilities.

In addition, the Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking applications for the Public Golf Committee. This is a sub-committee of the Parks and Recreation Commission that the Commission approved on January 8, 2020.

The Public Golf Committee will develop and present recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission to address improvements to public golf. This Committee will foster communication, cooperation, and consultation between golf management, Parks and Recreation Commission, City Administration, and golfers.

The Public Golf Committee membership includes voting members who are Parks and Recreation Commission members and non-voting members of the public. Interested members of the public wishing to serve on the Public Golf Committee may apply online.
