Duluth Police Officers Arrest One Individual
At around 1:55 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, Duluth Police Officers were patrolling the area of 18th Ave E and E Superior St when they noticed two individuals acting suspiciously in the area. A concerned citizen flagged down an officer and stated that the two individuals were believed to be stealing items from vehicles parked in the area.
Officers located and identified the two individuals. Officers arrested one of the individuals, 18-year-old Duluth resident Vance Watson, on probable cause from a previous case he was involved in. Watson was booked on charges from the previous case including vehicle theft, fleeing in a motor vehicle, fleeing an officer on foot, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Officers checked the area and located a backpack with a sawed-off rifle, a pistol magazine, and a bag of ammunition in it. Pending charges are forthcoming after further investigation.
Great work by Duluth Police Officers for taking these individuals off the street and confiscating this dangerous weapon.
