INCIDENT LOCATION: 9400 block of Grand Ave
Individual arrested on multiple pending hit and run charges
At approximately 9:15 a.m., Sunday, January 2, 2022, Duluth Police Officers responded to the 9400 block of Grand Ave for multiple calls of an individual driving recklessly and hitting multiple vehicles. Officers tracked down the reported vehicle and the individual that was suspected of driving, later identified as 41-year-old Duluth resident Matthew Burcar. Burcar ditched the vehicle and fled on foot near the area of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Officers set up a perimeter and apprehended Burcar without incident. He was booked in the St. Louis County Jail on a Department of Corrections warrant and pending charges of 11 counts of hit and run and DWI control substance.
