The Mount of Olives Baptist Church will be hosting its third annual Festival 5.1k Race and Walk on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 starting at 6:00 p.m. The run will start at 1500 Swan Lake Road. The runners will head north on Swan Lake Road in the northbound lane, east on Arrowhead Road on the sidewalk, south on Arlington Road on the shoulder, west on Olive Street, north on Stanford Avenue, where they will run on a trail off road and end where they started.
At 5:45 p.m. officers will begin detouring traffic in the race area. The northbound lane of swan Lake Road from Terrace Street to Arrowhead Road will be closed during the race. Northbound traffic wanting to access Arrowhead Road on Swan Lake Road will need to use West Ideal Street. Southbound traffic on Swan Lake will be open.
Watch for officers directing traffic and slow down for runners along the course. Roadways should reopen to normal traffic flow around 7:00 p.m.
