SUBJECT: Gun Shot Wound

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Shooting

INCIDENT DATE: 8/10/2009
INCIDENT TIME: 2225 hours
INCIDENT LOCATION: 100 Block of East 4 Alley

On Monday, August 10, 2009, at 10:30 p.m., the Duluth Police Department went to St. Mary's Hospital to investigate the report there was a male in the hospital with a non life threatening gun shot wound to the arm.  It was learned that the shooting had occurred in the 100 Block of East 4 Alley a short time earlier.  The victim was treated and released from St. Mary's.  At this time there appear to be suspicious circumstances involved in the shooting.

Today, Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 2:42 p.m., the Duluth Police arrested Antonio Darnell Burch, age 24 of Duluth, in the 2200 Block of West 8th Street without incident.  Burch has been lodged at the St. Louis County Jail and charged with Second Degree Attempted Murder and Second Degree Assault..

Due to the ongoing investigation, police cannot comment further.  Police ask witnesses or anyone with information about the Monday night shooting to please call the Violent Crimes Unit at 218-730-5050.
