INCIDENT LOCATION: 2400 Maple Grove Road

Bail was set today at $75,000.00 for Anthony Luke Tomaino, age 28 of Duluth, for Monday’s robbery of the U.S. Bank. Tomaino appeared in Sixth Judicial District Court in Duluth this morning on the charges of Simple Robbery, Theft, and Fifth Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance. All three are felonies.

At 1:45 pm on Monday, Duluth Police responded to the U.S. Bank at 2400 Maple Grove Road on the report that the bank had just been robbed by a lone male. No weapons were seen or implied and the suspect fled the bank on foot with an unspecified amount of money.

Citizens reported a suspicious vehicle seen in the area that had parked and the lone male occupant left the vehicle and returned a short time later. At 3:34 pm the vehicle was located in the 4800 Block of Rice Lake Road and Tomaino taken into custody. He later admitted his involvement in the robbery.

Tomaino’s next scheduled court appearance is Wednesday, September, 8th, 2010.
