Duluth Investigators Apprehend Individual Responsible for Bank Robbery

On Wednesday, March 16, Investigators from the Duluth Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, with assistance from other law enforcement agencies, arrested 41-year-old Illinois resident Anthony Rechichi in Hanover Park, Illinois. Rechichi confessed to robbing National Bank of Commerce on W Superior St in Duluth on February 28. 

“Our investigators, along with the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office, Hanover Park Police Department, and other agencies worked tirelessly to apprehend Rechichi without incident and hold him accountable for his actions,” said Deputy Chief of Investigations, Nick Lukovsky. “The work done by Duluth Police Investigators Ryan Temple and Ben Nordskog was exceptional.” 

Rechichi is currently being held in Illinois on pending charges of Simple Robbery from Minnesota.

Duluth Police Seek Public's Assistance in Identifying Individual

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 28, Duluth Police Officers were dispatched to the National Bank of Commerce on W Superior St for a call of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke to employees who stated that a male demanded money from them. The individual took an undisclosed amount of money and walked out of the bank. There were no reported injuries and no reported weapons that were displayed.

The Duluth Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the below photo. He is described as being a 5’9” male with a possible limp wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, blue jeans, white hat, black tennis shoes, sunglasses, dark colored gloves, and a camo mask.
