If you missed the presentation of the Demographic Disparity Analysis, you can find the un-edited recorded video on the Duluth Police Department’s website here. You will also be able to review the entire Demographic Disparity Analysis report, along with two other reports; the 2020 Response to Aggression & Resistance Report and the 2018 – 2020 Complaint Accountability Report on the website as well.
The Response to Aggression and Resistance Report details how often officers used force, why force was used, the types of calls for service where force was used, the tactics officers used, and racial demographics for those involved in the use of force incidents.
The Complaint Accountability Report documents all internal and external complaints received from 2018 – 2020 and showcases what goes into the hiring and training of your Duluth Police Officers.
“It’s the first time in the department’s history all three of these reports are publically released,” said Chief Mike Tusken. “The Duluth Police Department released these reports to continue our commitment to our community and to fulfill our values of being Fair, Accountable, Caring, and Transparent.”
You’re encouraged to read each of these reports to get the full context as well as toggle through the Response to Aggression & Resistance Incident Data and Summary which can be found here. This summary data connects each use of force incident within the Duluth Police Department to the call for service our officers are responding to.
