UPCOMING In-Demand Career Trainings

[Duluth, MN] Let’s train up and get to work!

Are you looking for a better job? Do you want a career change?  We can help with that. Now is the time to start short-term trainings that lead to long-term careers with high wages and good benefits. Most importantly, for those who are eligible, there is no cost to you.

Through our Career Pathway Training partnership, Duluth Workforce Development and SOAR Career Solutions are offering two upcoming career training classes to prepare for work in a medical office and in construction. The classes include educational support provided by Duluth Adult Education and Lake Superior College, hands on-learning and connections to area employers.  Participants can also earn college credit, with opportunities for further training and certifications for those who are interested.

Health Services: May 16-July 20

Training in Microsoft Office, medical terminology, and client scheduling. This training prepares you for a medical office career, or a start in an office or administrative role. This training offers the chance to earn credits toward required prerequisites for Lake Superior College's Medical Assistant program.

Construction Pathways: May 17-end of July

Get introduced to the building and construction trades with the apprenticeship preparatory program Building Strong Communities. Meet union representatives, earn the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum certification, become OSHA 10 certified, and learn the hands-on skills and tools needed to build a career in construction.

Both classes are funded by Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Pathways to Prosperity grants.  Training opportunities will continue throughout 2023.
