21st Avenue East reconditioning project to begin on June 20, 2022

[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth will begin the 21st Avenue East reconditioning project on June 20, 2022. Advanced notification signs for this project will go up on 21st Avenue East beginning on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. The actual project and road closure will begin on June 20, 2022.

The scope of work for the project will be on 21st Avenue East from London Road to Woodland Avenue. The second phase will extend the project up to Woodland Avenue and is expected to begin in August.

The project consists of concrete pavement rehabilitation on 21st Avenue East between London Road and Superior Street; full depth concrete intersection pavement reconstruction and new signals at the intersections of 21st Avenue East, Superior Street, and 2nd Street; bituminous mill and overlay on 21st Avenue East between Superior Street and Woodland Avenue; ADA improvements; storm sewer improvements; and concrete sidewalks and driveways.
