Two Juvenile Males Lodged in Arrowhead Juvenile Center
At approximately 1:51 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, Duluth Police Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of E Upham Road for a disturbance call involving two 17-year-old males. Upon arrival, the reporting party mentioned that both 17-year-old males left and were in possession of handguns. Officers locate the two juvenile males from the description given by the reporting party near the intersection of Baylis Street and Wildwood Drive.
Officers question both juveniles. During a pat-down, officers locate a stolen handgun out of Superior on one juvenile. The other juvenile was also in possession of a handgun. Both handguns were loaded and additional ammunition was located in a bag.
One 17-year-old was lodged in Arrowhead Juvenile Center for pending charges of possession of a stolen firearm, prohibited person in possession of a handgun, and false name. The other juvenile male was lodged in Arrowhead Juvenile Center on pending charges of prohibited person in possession of a handgun.
No one was injured in this incident.
Good work by officers for confiscating illegal weapons from juveniles to continue to create a safe community for all.
