City looking to fill 19 open Board, Commission, and Authority seats by August 1
[Duluth, MN] The City of Duluth has 19 immediate openings on various boards, commissions, and authorities. Over 250 volunteers are currently serving on more than 30 Boards, Commissions, and Authorities that each work with City departments, City Councilors, and the public to serve the City.
"Board and commission members are uniquely positioned to foster innovative ideas, help drive community-based solutions, all while growing your community leadership," said Alicia Kozlowski, Community Relations Officer. "Your perspective, leadership, experience, and knowledge have a home here in Duluth.”
All meetings of the City’s boards and commissions are open to the public.
Boards, Commissions, and Authorities vary on topics and interest areas from libraries, parks and recreation, housing, food justice, economic development, and beyond.
Vacancies include:
- Alcohol, Gambling, and Tobacco Commission (4)
- African Heritage Commission (7)
- NQT2SLGBIA Commission (2)
- Parking Commission (3)
- Indigenous Commission (2)
- Special Board of Review (1)
Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend a meeting of the board or commission of their choosing prior to applying. No previous board experience is necessary to apply. All are welcome to apply online or by paper form that can be obtained from the Clerk’s Office by calling 218-730-5500 or in person at City Hall 411 West First St, Room 318 by August 1, 2022.
