City of Duluth to host public meeting regarding upcoming 3rd Street reconditioning project
The City of Duluth will host a public meeting on August 2, 2022 regarding the reconditioning of 3rd Street between Mesaba Avenue and 12th Avenue East. This meeting is to gather the public’s feedback for the project and to view the current project concept.
The City of Duluth will host this public information meeting on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Central Hillside Center Classroom (CHC), 12 E. 4th Street, Duluth, MN.
The design and engineering of the project will take place in 2022, with construction scheduled for 2023. Funding for the project will come from Municipal State Aid for Street and Federal funds. The scope of work for the project includes:
- Street resurfacing and concrete repairs.
- Traffic signal study and recommendations.
- Spot storm, curb, and gutter replacement.
- Pedestrian improvements, including adding ADA-compliant curb ramps.
- Multimodal improvements for cyclists and other lightweight human and electric-powered devices.
The public meeting will begin with a brief overview of the project, followed by a participant input round and a question and answer session.
