Duluth Police Respond to Domestic Incident

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, Duluth Police Officers responded to the 400 block of N 53rd Ave W for a report of a domestic. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male, later identified as 41-year-old Gerald Dean Crest Jr., barricaded himself and his 40-year-old significant other in an apartment and would not come out. The Duluth Police Department’s Crisis Negotiations Team arrived on scene and assisted with communication efforts. Members from the Tactical Response Team made entry into the home and apprehended Crest without incident. No one was injured in this incident.

Crest will be booked in the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges of Kidnapping, Domestic Assault by Strangulation, Domestic Assault, DANCO Violation, and Warrants. Good work by Duluth Police Officers, Crisis Team Negotiators, and members of the Tactical Response Team for safely bringing this incident to a resolution.
